OPENING NIGHT IS TOMORROW!
This weekend and next weekend come see Little Theatre’s production of William Shakespeare’s Macbeth! We all have been working very hard to put on what is sure to be a magnificent performance full of sword fighting, gruesome murders, heinous witches, an evil queen, and one insane Scotsman. It is sure to be a performance you will never forget and may even give you nightmares. Performances this weekend are Thursday October 18th @ 8pm, Friday October 19th @8pm, Saturday October 20th @ 2pm. More performances next weekend Thursday October 25th @ 8pm, Friday October 26th @ 8pm, and Saturday October 27th @ 8pm. Admission is free and refreshments are served afterwards, you really shouldn’t miss out!
Sweeney’s Coming This March!
After a highly successful Fall semester featuring two great shows, Much Ado About Nothing & Deathrap, The Canisius College Little Theatre is proud (and very excited!) to announce our next production: Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler’s musical Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
Sweeney will be directed by Seniors Joshua Robinson & Tyler Ianuzi, both 4-year members of LT and currently sitting E-Board members; will feature musical direction by William Freeman; and will be produced by Hannah Alt & Christopher Hyzy, the club’s President & Vice President.
The role of Sweeney Todd will be played by Freshman Albert Falcone, previously seen as Claudio in our fall production of Much Ado About Nothing; Mrs. Lovett will be played by Sophomore Erin Mount, who appeared as Beatrice in Much Ado and Margaret Johnson in last year’s The Light In The Piazza; Sophomore Matt Giangrego, who was in both of our shows Fall semester, will play Anthony; Johanna will be played by Junior Miranda Lombardo, who was seen as Clara in The Light In The Piazza and Clea in 2010′s Black Comedy; Sophomore Rebecca Krakowiak, last seen in 2010′s Public Eye, will be playing Tobias Ragg; and Freshman Patrick Zicari, who played Benedick in Much Ado, will play Judge Turpin.
The show will run for one weekend only, March 1st-3rd 2012, in Canisius’ own Marie Maday Theatre, located on campus in Lyons Hall. To reserve tickets, call (716) 888-3795. Tickets will be high demand, so reserve your soon!
Little Theatre Presents “Much Ado About Nothing”
Opening the 2011-2012 Little Theatre season will be William Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing” set to open Thursday, October 20th. The show is directed by Artist-in-Residence Eileen Dugan and will run October 20th- 22nd and October 27th-October 29th in the Marie Maday Theatre in Lyons Halls; located on the campus of Canisius College. The last Shakespeare play Little Theatre performed was “Romeo & Juliet” in the Fall of 2009 Admission is free to both students and the public. Doors open at 7:30pm with curtain at 8pm. The October 29th show will be a special matinee performance with doors at 1:30pm and curtain at 2pm. Light refreshments will be served after each performance.

2011-2012 Second Stage Shows!
The Canisius College Little Theatre is proud to announce the Second Stage Shows and Directors for the 2011-2012 season!
In the fall, Kailey Balconi will be directing Ira Levin’s comedy thriller, Deathtrap, to run December 1st-3rd. Auditions dates will be held Monday, October 3rd from 2pm to 4pm in the Frisch Conference Room and on Tuesday, October 4th in the LT clubroom from 4:30-6:30pm.

General Body Meeting – Wednesday, August 31st

This Wednesday, August 31st at 730PM, Little Theatre will be holding our first General Body Meeting in the Marie Maday Theatre (in Lyons Hall). Come out and meet this year’s E-Board, discuss our upcoming season, Studio X, play some warm-up games, and much more!

Studio X – September 8th
The Canisius College Little Theatre announces the start of another great season with Studio X!
Do you like to sing? Act? Dance? Maybe you’re looking for a great way to get involved on campus and start the year off right? Consider Studio X, not your typical open mic show! We have a wide variety of acts, certain to please any and all who attend. At our last show we had acts such as comedy skits, musical sing-alongs & solo acts, original singer-songwriters, and even some stand-up comedy!
Studio X will be located in the Palisano Pavilion, right in the heart of the Canisius College campus, at 8PM on Thursday, September 8th.

Virtual LT Tours: Coming Soon
Keep an eye on our website over the summer, we are going to be experimenting with some new technologies to further bring the LT experience online!
For example, we are going to be testing out the features of Microsoft Photosynth to hopefully bring some interactive panoramas online for your viewing pleasure.
